Gen Ken Montgomery is a DIY composer/sound artist/postcard artist whose involvement in cassette culture and mail-art led to his founding New York City’s first sound art gallery, Generator, in 1989. He is the Minister of Lamination in the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland.
People like Montgomery are gifted with a sympathetic inner ear, extracting juices of consequence from what could appear unadorned triviality. It’s the inside logic that wins, electroacoustic junk turned into thought-provoking aural stimulation at the end.
